Are Behringer speakers good? That’s what we are going to find out in this post. We will go over the history of Behringer, how they make their products, and if it is a good idea to buy one. We will also compare them with other brands on the market. If you are looking for some affordable speaker options that sound great, then this is the article for you!
The History Of Behringer
Behringer is an audio equipment company founded by the Swiss engineer Uli Behringer on 25 January 1989, in Willich, Germany. Behringer was the 14th largest manufacturer of music products in 2007. Behringer is a worldwide, multinational group of companies, with a direct marketing presence in ten countries or territories and a sales network in over 130 countries around the world.
Though originally a German manufacturer, it now manufactures its products in China. Behringer is owned by Music Tribe, a holding company chaired by Uli Behringer.
Behringer’s history starts in 1989 when the young Swiss engineer and music aficionado decided to offer an affordable alternative for musicians who couldn’t afford high-priced studio equipment but still wanted professional sound quality. Soon after founding his own business, he began producing highly accurate 24-bit mixers and amplifiers that were affordable enough to be purchased by nearly any musician.
In 1990, Uli Behringer created the world’s first MIDI foot controller as an alternative for musicians who couldn’t afford or didn’t want to pay expensive prices for studio equipment. It was one of the first products he sold himself at music fairs in Europe.
In 1991, Behringer was the first company in Europe to launch a digital DJ mixer; it had a built-in MIDI interface for synchronizing with sequencing equipment and controlling light shows. The product became an instant hit among musicians who used these mixers to create unique live performances.

What Are Behringer Speakers Made Of?
Behringer speakers are made of a variety of materials, depending on the specific model. The larger ones tend to have wooden enclosures and metal speaker grills while smaller models may be constructed entirely from plastic or MDF (a wood-based material).
Behringer Speakers Vs. Other Brands
Behringer speakers often get compared to brands like JBL and Mackie because they are some of the most affordable on the market. Here’s a quick comparison:
JBL – The difference between these two speaker systems is very small, but JBL tends to be slightly higher quality (though perhaps not as loud). Many musicians and DJs prefer JBL because they are more durable and have a lower profile.
Mackie – This brand is often considered to be the highest quality of affordable brands, though they may not be as loud or “punchy” as some Behringer models. If you’re looking for an accurate sound that’s still inexpensive, it’s hard to beat Mackie.
All in all, Behringer speakers are good but they are not great or the best. But they do beat the Chinese knock-off speakers or those made by Rockville or ProReck etc.
If you are a small church or a church plant on a budget, Behringer speakers will work. But don’t expect to sound like Hillsong or Bethel when you use them.
